Kia Ora, Malo e lelei, Bonjour, Kon-Nichiwa, Hola, Talofa.
My name is Selina Peauafi and I will be your child’s teacher this year. This will be my second year at St Joseph’s Primary School and I have loved being part of the school community. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and working alongside them.
The best way to communicate with me is via email:
I will send all class and syndicate notices to your email.
Make sure you follow the class blog so you are up to date with what exciting things are happening in Room 8: http://room8explorers.blogspot.co.nz/

Reading

Reading books will be coming home daily starting today. Please make sure your child brings their book bag to school daily as it protects the books. It will be part of your child’s morning routine to change their book over everyday. Reading mileage is important, aim for at least ten minutes every day.

Uniform

The new uniform is required as of Term 1 2015. Please ensure your child has a wide brimmed sun hat as these are worn Terms 1 and 4. It is also important that they have suitable shoes each day to ensure they can fully participate in fitness and physical education activities. Please make sure all hats and sweatshirts are named.

Teachers in Room 8

Mrs Thompson will be teaching in Room 8 for five days a term allowing me to have senior teacher release time. Mrs Thompson will be teaching on Thursday once a fortnight starting this week (1, 3, 5, 7, 9). Mrs Thompson is a fantastic, experienced member of the St Joseph’s staff. The children will enjoy meaningful learning experiences with her. Mrs Thompson will continue using the Reading, Writing and Mathematics programme that will be established within the classroom.
