Day 11 Indonesia

Last day today!!
This morning we went to a turtle Sanitary.  The organisation that runs it buys turtle eggs off Fishermen who find them. They move the nests so they eggs are not damaged or eaten by people. In one neat from one turtle is around 100 eggs but not all of the eggs hatch. It all depends of the temperature to determine whether the egg will turn into a male/ female. In the warmer heat the eggs will turn into female and about 70-80% of the eggs hatch. In the colder temperature the eggs will turn into males and about 60% of the eggs will hatch.

The end of my Indonesian tour has come to an end. I leave Bali at 9pm and arrive ball into Wellington at 2.15pm on Saturday. I have made some great connections with teachers in Indonesia and am looking forward to building relationships with the children at St Johns  school.

I feel blessed to have been given this amazing opportunity and I hope you have enjoyed the jounery alongside me through my blog posts.

I am looking forward to sharing some of my fun stories with the children next week.

We got in a jeep and went to the local school where we got to meet the teachers and children.

After a busy morning we spend the rest of the morning at UllenSentalu Museum where we leant about Indonesian history and culture.

We flew from Yogyakarta to Bail on a one hour flight.

Day 7 Indonesia

This morning I had to wake up at 230am and get on a bus. We went to watch the sunrise at Borobudur temple is the most magnificent Buddhist monument and the largest in the world.
In the pictures you will see a mountain and that is where I will be going tommorow to stay the night in a village with local Indoneisans.

I am about to head down to the markets and get some good deals. When you want to buy something is doesn't have prices. Say a tshirt, I want to buy it and ask the ower he might say $10 and I say no too expensive $3 he migh say no no $7, no I say too expensive $5, and he might agree or not. You work out price and pay. If you don't want to buy it you don't have to if the price is not what you want.

Day 6 Indonesia

Today we flew to Yogyakarta, it took around an hour on the plane. Yogyakarta is known for its culture, shopping and natural landscape.

We had beautiful traditional lunch prepared after we arrived. It consisted of rice, tofu curry, fired chicken and fruit.

We then went to a silver making factory where they make beautiful pieces of jewellery.  We saw the talented workers make pendants, broaches. We then got to make our own rings or pendant.

It was time for some bargain hunting and shopping down the Main Street of Yogyakarta.
