Day 4 Indonesia

Today I traveled in a taxi with two other teachers from St Frances Xavier, Tawa. We meet with teachers and the principal from St John Catholic School. The school has P-K, Primary, Senior Primary and Junior High.

They start the day at 7.30am until 1.30pm. They all spoke English and were very excited to have guests. We got to attend a special assembly they had called Out Reach. They had invited Elderly people for the local rest home to come and attend a special assembly. They children put a show with each year group performing a dance/song. The elderly then responded and sang a song. It was wonderful to see the children showing appreciation and respect towards the older generation.

The teachers of St John are very excited to make connects with our school and this will be a friendship that grows and develops once I return to New Zealand.

St John's is a young school- they have only be open 9 years.

Question: Do some research and find out when our school St Joseph's- Upper Hutt opened and how long we have been a school.
